Edwards, Jane Amanda. Jane Amanda Edwards was created by Charlotte Murray Russell and appeared in thirteen novels from 1935 to 1951, beginning with Murder at the Old Stone House.

Jane Amanda Edwards is single, in her forties, lives in the Midwestern town or Rockport and is independently wealthy enough to be able to pursue a career as an amateur sleuth without worrying about money. Her sister Annie, though friendly to her, believes that Jane is obsessed with murders, although given her track record that is an unduly harsh judgment.
