The Eagle (II). The Eagle (II) was created by Maurice Geraghty, Winston Miller, John Rathmell (Crash Corrigan), and Leslie Swabacker, and appeared in the film serial The Vigilantes Are Coming (1936). The Eagle (II) is a Costumed Avenger modeled on Zorro. In California in the 1840s Don Loring becomes the costumed vigilante, the Eagle, after his father and brother are killed by General Burr, whose men are mining gold on the Loring land. Loring pretends to be the stupid organist in the local mission, and thus goes undetected by General Burr, but Loring and his friends successfully defeat Burr and Count Raspinoff and his Cossacks, who are the muscle behind Burr’s scheme.
