Duval, Claude (II). Claude Duval (1643-1670) was a French highwayman who robbed stagecoaches in England. He was famous for always acting in a gentlemanly manner toward his victims. He appeared in Claude Duval. Historischer Roman Aus Der Puritanerzeit #1-46 (1907-1908), written by “Charlton Lea,” the pseudonym of the German author Carl Eben.
The fictional version of Duval is portrayed sentimentally, ahistorically, and as a Gentleman Bandit equally active in England and in Europe.
