Drew, Dick. Dick Drew was created by the pseudonymous “Bob Walworth” (Bob Henderson) and appeared in eight stories in American Indian Series in 1910, beginning with “The Magic Rifle; or, Dick Drew Among the Sioux” (American Indian Series #1, Feb. 1910). Dick Drew is a famous scout and Indian fighter on the American frontier in the years after the American Civil War. Drew is favorably compared with Buffalo Bill. After Drew’s father is murdered by a band of Crows, Drew swears to avenge his death, and after taking charge of the family ranch in Montana he helps the government suppress Indian revolts.
