Drago, Gip. Gip Drago was created by Eugene Cunningham (Bar-Nothing Red Ames, Cleve Corby, Lance Craig, Bob Land, Richard Ralston, Shelley, Ware) and appeared in fifteen stories in Frontier Stories and Action Stories from 1932 to 1936, beginning with “High Stakes” (Frontier Stories, Jan. 1932).
Gip Drago is a Sergeant in the Texas Rangers, enforcing justice on both sides of the Rio Grande in the decades after the American Civil War. He is a wanderer and goes where the crime is. He is “handsome as Carter Flint” and a ladies’ man. His horse is named Button.
