Donovan, Richard. Richard Donovan was created by Curt Siodmak (Bernard Adrian, Lennartz, Dr. Sovac, Larry Talbot) and George Sherman and appeared in the film The Lady and the Monster (1944).

Richard Donovan is a Brain in a Jar. He was a millionaire, but a car accident fatally wounds him, and he dies. Fortunately for Donovan, Mad Scientist Franz Mueller has some theories about keeping brains alive after the death of the body, and Mueller puts them into effect with Donovan’s Brain. Even more fortunately for Donovan, the experiment is such a success that it gives him superpowers such as mind control. Things go downhill from there.
