Dollar, Jack. Jack Dollar appeared in the French dime novel Jack Dollar, Le Premier Policier Du Monde #1-41 (circa 1930). Jack Dollar is a Great Detective. He is American and works out of New York City. He has a boy assistant similar to Harry Taxon. A number of the stories in Jack Dollar were plagiarisms of Arthur Conan Doyle, Arthur Morrison (Horace Dorrington, Martin Hewitt), and Nick Carter (I) and Nat Pinkerton stories. Some of Dollar’s stories had titles like "The Bar of the Green Parrot," "The Vampire of the Movies," and "The Poisoner of New York.”
