Dodge City Kid. The Dodge City Kid was created by “Ben Frank,” the pseudonym of Frank Bennett, and appeared in four stories in Texas Rangers, Ace-High Western Stories, and Double Action Western from 1945 to 1948, beginning with “Singing Bullets” (Texas Rangers, Feb. 1945). The Dodge City Kid is a Wanted Man. He is originally from Kansas, but life and encounters with bad men have put him permanently on the trail, wandering the American southwest as a cowboy and do-gooder while being pursued by the law. He has a “bitter young-old face” and is quick with his guns.
