Denver Kid. The Denver Kid was created by T.T. Flynn (Cassidy, Val Easton, Mike Harris, Mister Maddox, Izzy O'Shea) and appeared in a number of stories in Short Stories in 1930, beginning with “Breakaway” (Short Stories, Oct. 25, 1930).

The Denver Kid is the slim, clean-faced member of a “big time liquor gang,” run by a suave killer named Genkler. The Kid decides to leave the gang after his truck is hijacked. But Genkler doesn’t like that, and the Kid is forced to use his skill with guns to fight his way free. After that, it’s a nonstop war between the Kid and the underworld.
