Delaney, Ed. Ed Delaney was created by Barney Furey and appeared in twelve stories in The Blue Book Magazine in 1919 and 1920, beginning with “Spick Stuff” (The Blue Book Magazine, Apr 1919).
Ed Delaney is a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, along with his best friend, Corporal Mickey Brogan. They had been a part of the American Expeditionary Force, during World War One, but the war is over now, and duller and safer days are ahead of them. But somehow those days are not without adventure, whether it is going after a shell-shocked Marine a.w.o.l. in the Belleau Wood with a full pack, including rifle and grenades, or helping save a drifting, rudder-less ship from destruction.
