De Medici, Doctor Riccardo. Doctor Riccardo de Medici was created by the Italian author Umberto Cei and appeared in two stories in Romanza della Domenica in 1911, beginning with “Il Segreto della Cassaforte.”

Doctor Riccardo de Medici is a Great Detective and is famous enough to be described as "the Italian Sherlock Holmes,” although a critic described him as “half Sherlock Holmes and half Joe Petrosino.”
