Dax, Gil. Gil Dax was created by “Jules Hoche,” the pseudonym of the French author Jules Hosch, and appeared in Gil Dax, Empereur des Airs #1-20 (1908).

Gil Dax is an inventor and aviator who creates a technologically-advanced airplane and uses it to fight German spies, evil Malaysian Maharajahs, and octopi with human faces created by a Mad Scientist.

Dax appears in stories with titles like “In the Land of Horrors,” “The Fatal Forest,” and “Women, Gunpowder, and Blood!”
