Cummings, Gospel. Gospel Cummings was created by Charles M. Martin (Alamo Bowie, Dapper Donnelly, Roaming Reynolds, Rawhide Runyan) and appeared in three short stories and three novels from at least 1945 to at least 1951, beginning with “A Fair Shake” (Famous Western, Summer 1945).

“Gospel” Cummings is a hard-drinking, Bible-quoting shootist. He is active in Arizona, but with his sidekick Jeff ranges around the Old West enforcing justice.
