Crupper, Jo. Jo Crupper was created by “Thomas Le Breton,” the pseudonym of T. Murray Ford, and appeared in sixteen stories which were collected in Jo Crupper, Bus Conductor (1925).

Jo Crupper is a working-class Cockney bus driver in London. He works the 794 route, and encounters a variety of personalities, from crotchety old women to pickpockets. When Crupper meets a thief, he sees to it that the thief is caught or at the least reported to the police.
