Craig, Clipper. Clipper Craig was created by “Jack Maxwell,” the pseudonym of Ernest McKeag (Catch-‘em-Alive Carr, Cocksure Kelly, Nick Norton, Stanton Stern, Malcolm Swift), and appeared in a number of stories in Triumph in 1935 and 1936, possibly beginning with “The Case of the £1,000 Fish” (Triumph, Nov. 16, 1936). Clipper Craig is a Great Detective modeled on Sexton Blake. Craig drives a very fast speedboat and solves crimes on the water, and is known as “the Speedboat ‘Tec.”
