Cragin, Cliff. Cliff Cragin was created by Edgar Hoffmann Price (Pâwang Ali, Pierre d’Artois, Honest John Carmody, Don Cragston, Saul Epstein, Glenn Farrell, Simon Bolivar Grimes, Glenn Haley, Ishmeddin, Jim Kane, Matalaa, Average Parker, Dr. Zeng Tse-lin) and appeared in fourteen stories in Spicy Detective Stories and Private Detective Stories from 1935 to 1944, beginning with “Imposter’s Rendezvous” (Spicy Detective Stories, Feb. 1935).
Cliff Cragin is a Bellem. He is the owner and operator of a one-man detective agency, and is a “broad-shouldered, sandy-haired young man” with a “craggy face and grey eyes.” He drives a Garrett Special, a fast car modified to not need refueling for hundreds of miles. He often encounters buxom, sexually available women.
