Coulson, Rex. Rex Coulson was created by “Jack Mann,” the pseudonym of E. Charles Vivian (Inspector Byrne, Gees, Inspector Head, Victor Marshall), and appeared in fourteen novels from 1921 to 1939, beginning with Death Rides the Forest.

Rex Coulson is an adventurer, active around Europe and North Africa. He is “well-set-up” and “nicely tailored,” and has a taste for trouble–capturing Chinese junks at Tientsin, rescuing white boys from Arab tribes–that sort of thing.
