Collins, Cultus. Cultus Collins was created by W.C. Tuttle (Henry Conroy, Happy-Hay, Hashknife Hartley, Howdy Hepburn, Sad Sontag, Tombstone and Speedy, Warwhoop Wilson) and appeared in eighteen stories and story serials in a variety of pulps from 1922 to 1950, beginning with “Spawn of the Desert” (Short Stories, May 10 1922).

Cultus Collins is an investigator for the Cattle Association. His cases take him all around the west, even into San Francisco, but his home is in Cuyamac. He is courteous and gentlemanly, a sound fighter and a better shot, “tall, rather slender, his head surmounted by a huge Stetson sombrero, which made him look gigantic in the dim light.” In at least one case he meets Hashknife Hartley.
