Coffin Crew. The Coffin Crew were created by Arch Whitehouse (Todd Bancroft, Buzz Benson, Crash Carringer, Casket Crew, Griffon, Tug Hardwick, Coffin Kirk) and appeared in four stories in Air Stories (UK) in 1935, beginning with “One Man’s War” (Air Stories (UK), May 1935).

The Coffin Crew are a group of brave English and Dominion fighter and bomber pilots, “that happy band of R.F.C. warriors whose exploits were known from end to end of the Allied lines,” who wage unceasing and very successful war on the Germans during World War One.
