Clift, Jr., Cornelius. Cornelius Clift, Jr. was created by Eric Heath and appeared in Death Takes a Dive (1938) and Murder in the Museum (1939).
Cornelius Clift, Jr., is a brilliant criminologist and amateur detective who writes books on criminology and gets his material first-hand, through the cases he solves. He can be a bit truculent and sullen, but he gets the job done. He is assisted by the perky, energetic, and pulchritudinous Winnie Preston, who Clift eventually asks to marry him.
