Charlie. Charlie was created by the Chinese creator Yeung Kung Leong (Chinese Scientist, Chinese Thief, Chinese Vampire, Fourth Madam Lu) and appeared in the film Cha Li Yu Xie Qing Gui (1939).

Charlie is a Chinese version of Topper. A pair of lovers who are separated by their families die of broken hearts, but after death they become mischievous ghosts, using their powers to frighten people, including a groom, a policeman, and a man in a dance hall. Only the hapless Charlie wins the ghosts’ goodwill, and they use their powers to help him.
