Celestia. Celestia was created by Gouverneur Morris and Charles W. Goddard (Elaine Dodge, Hidden Hand, Laughing Mask, Francis Morgan) and appeared in the film serial The Goddess (1915).
A Senator and two millionaires decide that the problem with the United States is that it isn’t run in a business-like fashion, so they decide to do something about it. They kidnap an orphaned girl and have her raised on a remote island. She grows up believing that she is “Celestia,” a goddess of kindness and love. An outsider persuades her to spread her gospel to the outside world, but when she tries she finds numerous obstacles and falls under the evil influence of Stilleter, a Superhuman hypnotist. All ends well, however.
