Cartter, Dick. Dick Cartter was created by “Captain Browning,” the pseudonym of the French author Jean-Charles Lagaillarde, and appeared in Dick Cartter, le Roi des Détectives #1-21 (1924).
Dick Cartter is an American Great Detective private detective modeled on Nick Carter (I). However, Cartter’s adventures tend toward the fantastic far more often than Nick Carter’s did; among the extraordinary opponents Cartter confronts are ghosts and possessed iron gloves.
Cartter appears in stories with titles like, “The Eyes of Fire,” “The Goddess With One Hundred Arms,” and “Under the Tiger’s Claw.”
