Carr, Curtis. Curtis Carr was created by “Earle Danesford,” the pseudonym of F. Addington Symonds (Dixon Hawke, Gable Keen), and appeared in a series of stories in The Champion in 1922 and 1923.
Curtis Carr is an aviator in the Flying Corps during World War One. Assisted by Hunky Doray, a boy Carr had rescued from the gutters, Carr shoots down numerous German pilots and solves various mysteries as “the Flying Detective.” Carr ventures as far afield as Asia and comes into conflict with a “Thibetan” Yellow Peril.
