Carabao Men. The Carabao Men were created by “J.H. Rosny (aîné),” the pseudonym of the French author Joseph Henri Honoré Böex (Hareton Ironcastle, Targ), and appeared in La Sauvage Aventure (1935).
The Carabao Men are a Lost Race of humanoids, similar to Neanderthals, who survive in Java. When Frédéric and Corisande, a pair of French siblings, mistakenly intrude on the Carabao hunting grounds, both are captured and taken to the Carabao lair in the swamps. Eventually Frédéric and Corisande escape.
