Captain Moonlight. Captain Moonlight was created by “Frank Warwick,” the pseudonym of Cecil Fanshaw (Black Cheetah, Husky King), and appeared in thirteen stories and serials in The Boys’ Friend, Triumph, and Champion Library from 1926 to 1932, beginning with “Back to the Road!” (The Boys’ Friend, Oct. 30, 1926); the stories were collected in Captain Moonlight: The Iron-Fisted Highwayman (1934). Captain Moonlight is a Gentleman Bandit. He is active in England in the 17th century and is known as the “iron-fisted highwayman” because of his great (almost superhuman) strength.
