Cameron, Jack. Jack Cameron was created by James Francis Dwyer (Hoosier Hawk, Red O’Neill, Texan Wasp, Vidaut) and appeared in a number of stories in Short Stories from 1910 to 1912, beginning with “The Black Lizard of Kinau” (Short Stories, Aug. 1910).

Jack Cameron is a South Seas Adventurer. He is the captain of the Coral Queen. “Captain Jack Cameron had a nodding acquaintance with every port in the Seven Seas. Big, dominant and fearless, he wooed Dame Adventure for the sheer love of the risks that one runs while in her company, and his little stunts made gossip from the trepang-scented waters of Torres Strait to the white beaches of the Marquesas.”
