Camberwell, Ronald. Ronald Camberwell was created by J.S. Fletcher (Turco Bullworthy, Paul Campenhaye, Sergeant Charlesworth, Archer Dawe, Richard Goulburn, Inspector Skarratt) and appeared in eleven novels from 1931 to 1937, beginning with Murder at Wrides Park.
Ronald Camberwell is a private detective who goes into business with William Chancy, a former member of Scotland Yard’s Criminal Investigation Department. They form Camberwell & Chancy-Private Enquiry Agents, located in London. Camberwell’s apartment is above the firm’s offices. Camberwell is clever but modest and is happy to let Chancy get the credit for solving a case. They are assisted by Chippendale, a clever London street lad.
