Cairn, Donald. Donald Cairn was created by “Vernon Loder,” the pseudonym of John George Vahey (Inspector Brews, Inspector Chace, Penny and Vincent Mercer), and appeared in Ship of Secrets (1936), The Men with the Double Faces (1937), and A Wolf in the Fold (1938).
Donald Cairn is an agent with the British Secret Service. In his adventures he goes undercover as a galley mate on a ship intended to be destroyed inside the Panama Canal; he helps stop Nazi agents from spying on and then rounding up Jewish refugees in England; and he stops foreign agents across Europe using barges on canals as their means of transportation.
