Burke, Eleanora. Eleanora Burke was created by Virginia Perdue and appeared in The Case of the Grieving Monkey (1941) and The Case of the Foster Father (1942).
Eleanora Burke is a tall, strong, intelligent, and athletic (despite her two hundred pounds) investigator for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office. She is a Stanford graduate and the widow of a famous criminologist, and is pleasantly cynical and just hardened enough by her job. One client describes her as a “clever, placid fat woman.”
