Budd, Robert. Robert Budd was created by Gerald Verner (Michael DeneLi-Sin), and appeared in nine stories and twenty-five novels and short story collections from 1934 to 1966, beginning with Sinister House.

Robert Budd is a Superintendent for the Criminal Investigation Department of Scotland Yard. He is obese, smokes cigars, and has a sleepy manner and a plodding, down-to-earth approach to crime solving. However, he is also clever and logical. He is assisted by the glum Sergeant Leek.
