Buckle, Ebenezer. Ebenezer Buckle was created by “Nicholas Brady,” the pseudonym of John Victor Turner (Mick Cardby, Tony Carter, Amos Petrie, Inspector Sanderson), and appeared in House of Strange Guests (1932), Fair Murder (1933), and Ebenezer Investigates (1934).

Ebenezer Buckle is the Rector of Dowerby in Hampshire. He is an amateur crime-solver, but he is intelligent and enthusiastic, and he dabbles in the criminal sciences, including criminal psychology, and studies the criminal codes until he becomes a very skilled at crime-solving. He is blunt and self-assured, but not unlikable. He is short, middle-aged, sprightly and quick.
