Brooks, Dan. Dan Brooks was created by the New Zealand author Cavell Nichol (Bill Foster) and appeared in a number of stories in the Wellington Evening Post in 1935 and 1936, possibly beginning with “The Brigand of Space” (Evening Post, 19 Jan. 1935). In the distant future Dan Brooks and his best pal George Baskin are interstellar policemen, patrolling the solar system in Rocket #798 and fighting a variety of space pirates, including the infamous Bennie Hall, “the Brigand of Space.”
