Broncho Bill. Broncho Bill was created by Harry O’Neill and appeared in the comic strip “Broncho Billy” (1928-1950).
Somewhere in the Rockies, around the time of the American Civil War, a vigorous young do-gooder known as “Broncho Bill” organizes a group of teenagers into a gang of vigilantes known as the “Rangers.” All the men of military age are off fighting in the War, so it is left to Broncho Bill and the Rangers to stop cattle rustlers, bank robbers, and the like. Broncho Bill is a talented shootist and horseman, and his horse Blackie is unusually smart for a horse.
