Bounty, Peter. Peter Bounty was created by Todd Downing (Hugh Rennert) and appeared in Murder on the Tropic Train (1935), Death Under the Moonflower (1938), and The Lazy Lawrence Murders (1941).

Peter Bounty is the Sheriff of Hesperides County, on the border of Texas and Mexico. He’s in his forties and is proud of the fact that he’s never had a prisoner in his jail, but for all that he is a successful solver of crimes, usually murders. He is tall, muscular, and easy-going.
