Black, Barton. Barton Black was created by John Lawrence (Sam Beckett, Cass Blue, Drago, Barron Hargraft, Marquis of Broadway) and appeared in “Private Enemy Number One” (Detective Action Stories, Oct. 1931) and “The White Eye” (Detective Action Stories, Nov. 1931).

Barton Black is a two-fisted reporter for the New York Sentinel. On his own he deals with the French master criminal Monsieur Blood, and at other times he assists Sam Beckett.
