Black Knight (I). The Black Knight (I) was created by the Chinese creator Mong Wan and appeared in the film Hei Xia (1941).

Lui Kwun Mang is a clever and resourceful Chinese Lupin who steals from the rich and gives to the poor, keeping a little for himself each time. After each theft he leaves behind a black chess piece, which is why he is known as the “Black Knight.” While in a dance hall Lui falls in love with a beautiful woman, Lee Ching Mei, who is a government agent spying on corrupt businessmen and officials who have sold themselves to the Japanese. Lui and Lee fall in love but put their romance aside so that they can help China fight the Japanese.
