Bello, Alejandro. Alejandro Bello was created by the Chilean author Hugo Silva and appeared in the serial “La Ciudad de los Césares” (El Mercurio, 1936-1937; as a novel, 1937).

Alejandro Bello is a Chilean aviator whose biplane is blown far off-course during a test flight in 1914. He lands in a remote Inca valley known to the Quechua as the “Old World.” The Old World is inhabited by the Lost Race descendants of conquistadors, still dressed in the garb of their Spanish ancestors. Adventure and romance follow.
