Bagdad. Bagdad was created by Milton Lowe (Phil Stevens) and appeared in “The Hobo Detective” (Popular Detective, Dec. 1937) and “Death Rides the Silver Rail” (Popular Detective, Aug. 1938).

Bagdad is a hobo detective. He is a connoisseur, with a regal bearing and elevated tastes, and when possible will steal steak and wine to feed himself and his friends. His past is a mystery, although he knows a great deal about medicine, the law, and trains, so he might have been a doctor, a lawyer, or a train engineer. He is social but keeps to himself and enjoys solving crimes.
