The Avenger (III). The Avenger (III) was created by Walter B. Gibson (Avenger (II), John Haverson, Norgil the Magician, Shadow (I)) and Gil and Ruth Braun and appeared in the radio serial The Avenger (1941-1946).

The Avenger (III) is Jim Brandon, an inventor who creates a “telepathic indicator” which allows him to overhear random thought flashes, and a “secret diffusion capsule” which covers Brandon in the “black light of invisibility.” Brandon uses these inventions to fight crime, aided by the lovely Fern Collier.
