Asbestos, Jim. Jim Asbestos was created by Leo F. Schmitt and appeared in twenty-six short stories which were collected in The Shyster Lawyer (1929).

Jim Asbestos is a lawyer in Wisconsin who embodies everything wrong about the legal profession and everything base in humans–he gives shysters a bad name. He is low, cringing and mean, coarse, cowardly and crude, a cheap, ambulance-chasing cheat, and a dishonest, lowdown, no-good and not particularly competent lawyer.
