Arcot, Morey & Wade. Arcot, Morey & Wade were created by John W. Campbell (Aarn Munro, Penton and Blake) and appeared in five stories in Amazing Stories from 1930 to 1932, beginning with “Piracy Preferred” (Amazing Stories, June 1930).

Richard Arcot is the son of a very distinguished scientist, and is himself “the most brilliant man in the world” and a top physicist. William Morey has a wealthy father, who employs Arcot, Morey & Wade, and is a leading mathematician as well as very good at turning Arcot’s brilliant ideas into reality. Wade is a brilliant chemist who begins as an air pirate but, once cured of a chemical imbalance, joins up with Arcot and Morey. In 2126 C.E. the trio fight air pirates (building a superplane to do so), settle a war on Venus, explore other planets and other solar systems, and fight off invading aliens.
