Annesley, George. George Annesley was created by “Francis Everton,” the pseudonym of Francis W. Stokes (Detective Inspector Allport), and appeared in Murder at Plenders (1930) and Murder May Pass Unpunished (1936).

George Annesley is an Inspector for the Special Investigations Department of Scotland Yard. His cases are varied, and include him going to Germany and using his metallurgical and engineering knowledge to see if a German in England is actually a spy. Annesley is good-humored and intelligent.
