Aminah. Aminah was created by the Malaysian author Shamsuddin Saleh and appeared in the serial “Hidup Yang Derhaka” (1936; as a novel, 1936).

Aminah is a counterespionage agent for the British Malaysian government who is active investigating Communist propagandists and rebels. Aminah discovers a Communist cell, but unfortunately the leader of the cell is Muhammad Ariff, Aminah’s lover. Ariff is found not guilty for lack of evidence, and he later assists Aminah on another case.
