Allan, Rocky. Rocky Allan was created by Virginia Rath (Michael Dundas) and appeared in seven novels from 1935 to 1939, beginning with Death at Dayton’s Folly.

Rocky Allan is an amateur detective in the small town of Merton, California. With his vivacious redhead wife Eleanor Rocky solves a variety of vicious murder cases. Allan is “amiable” and “homespun,” but also clever, and as the novels pass he graduates from amateur status and becomes a deputy sheriff. In his last appearance Allan teams up with Michael Dundas.
