Adrian, Bernard. Bernard Adrian was created by Adam Shirk and Curt Siodmak (Richard Donovan, Lennartz, Dr. Sovac, Larry Talbot) and appeared in the film The Ape (1940).

Bernard Adrian is a Mad Scientist. In a small town somewhere in America Bernard Adrian is trying to cure Frances Clifford’s polio. Adrian’s chosen method is the injection of spinal fluid, but his supply is dwindling. But then, fortuitously, a gorilla escapes from a nearby traveling circus. Adrian catches and shoots the gorilla, skins it, and goes out at night, wearing its skin, and killing men and women to harvest their spinal fluid.
