Warlock the Wizard. “Warlock the Wizard, master magician, has devoted his life to destroying evil. Using his weapons: his magic wand - the Golden Hand - and the mystic Lamp of the Gods - Warlock fights with keen wisdom, strength and courage to defeat the powers of sorcery and crime. And helping him always is his talking raven, Hugin.” The Golden Hand allows Warlock, when he shouts “Abraxas!” (or other words in later stories) to do just about anything, from flying on a cloud to growing to giant size to using the Golden Hand as a giant remote-control battering ram. Warlock fights against vampires, werewolves, gargoyles, evil magicians, the demon Kor Deno, tenement arsonists, Dr. Moreau-like Mad Scientists, and a white man cruelly ruling an island of natives in the South Pacific. He appears in stories with titles like “The Curse of Kor Deno,” “The Island Empire of John Kell,” and “The Beast-Crooks of Dr. Andro.”
