Bradley, Slam. Slam Bradley is a two-fisted, fight-first-think-later private eye who prowls the mean streets of Cleveland. He’s not that bright, but he’s tough enough to make up for it. He is assisted by his partner Shorty Morgan. He had no superpowers, not that he ever needed them. He fights ordinary criminals, Yellow Perils, stage magicians, the Human Fly, creatures from the year Two Billion, the Man-Beast, and on at least one occasion space aliens. He appears in stories with titles like “In the Foreign Legion,” “The Case of the Talking Dummy,” and “Case of the Artistic Ape.”
First Appearance: Detective Comics #1 (DC), Mar 1937. 100+ appearances, 1937-1949. Created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
