Liberator. Dr. Nelson Drew is a dull "bookworm professor" at Calflin University. On a palimpsest he discovers the formula for "a mystic Egyptian chemical called Lamesis which gives to a man the physical characteristics of his ideal!" He makes the formula and drinks it, and gains super-strength and super-speed. Naturally, he decides to fight crime and Nazis with it, although he is forced to maintain a cowardly front as Nelson Drew, which earns him the criticism of his student and crush Annabel. The Liberator’s enemies include X-3, "diabolical Nazi spy and man of a thousand faces" and a Nazi scientist who steals a formula to make men (including German soliders) bulletproof (he experiments by injecting Drew with it). He appears in stories with titles like "The Poison Dart Murders” and “The Actinic Weapon.”

First Appearance: Exciting Comics #15 (Standard), Dec. 1941. 23 appearances, 1941-1944. Created by ? and Leo Morey?
