Lando. “Lando the Unknown, greatest of magicians, wages continual warfare against all evil-doers and those who would undermine and destroy the vital defenses of our country.” Lando, Man of Magic, is a stage magician as well as an actual sorcerer. He travels around both the US and abroad, his powers and his turban a warning and threat against all evildoers. He is not a backwards-talking magician, but can simply do his magic without incantations. He appears in stories with titles like “Mystery at the Circus,” “The Panama Canal Mystery,” and “The Vanishing V-Men.”
First Appearance: World's Best Comics #1 (DC), Spring 1941. 7 appearances, 1940-1942. Created by Howard Purcell.
